Our Counsel, Tanja Savičić, was a speaker at a workshop organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, which focused on the new Law on Personal Data Protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The new law represents an important step toward aligning the domestic legal framework with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union. It introduces modernized standards for the processing and protection of personal data and aims to strengthen individual rights, increase accountability among data processors, and ensure greater transparency and security in business operations.

In her presentation, Tanja thoroughly explained the key innovations brought by the new law, including obligations for legal entities regarding data collection and processing, the role of the Data Protection Officer (DPO), and the significant penalties for non-compliance. Participants had the opportunity to receive practical guidance through real-life examples on how to bring their business operations in line with the new legal framework.

This workshop highlighted the importance of timely education and preparation for all entities that handle personal data in their work – from large corporations to small businesses and institutions.

We sincerely thank all participants for their active engagement, constructive questions, and open discussion.
